Predators have a ball in the mud at this years RAFL All Star game
New Brunswick, NJ; The North beat the South in this years annua RAFL All Star game but the game was just not about winning it was about having fun. Coach Jackson along with Predator players Damian McCaig, Chi Chi Mansaray, Chris Knapp, Kareen Moon and Tommy Levoyer all particpated in this years game. The game which was played in several inches of mud turned out to go the North way as they took the game 24 - 6. Lester Louise from the NJ Warriors ended up being the MVP for the North as he had 4 sacks 2 fumble recoveries and 2 TD fumble returns. The Predator players all played well given the conditions as MLB McCaig ended up with 5 tackles and Moon with two receptions for 45 yards and Mansaray was 9 - 56, Levoyer and Knapp blocked well. "Both teams looked like they were little kids again playing in the mud " one spectator was quuoted as saying. All in all it was a great event for all involved, kudos to the RAFL for a job well done

Mariners squash Predators hopes for another championship run Staten Island, NY The Predators layed an egg this weekend and got taken down by the veteran Mariners 30 - 14. The game was pretty much decided in the first quarter as the MAriners jumped on the Predators 23 - 0 after several mistakes by both the offense and the defense. "The whole team was in disarray today from the beginning of the day" said owner Bill Simo "As a whole the team just didn't come out to play today and it showed during pre-game warmups" he added. Sure enough the Mariners marched down the field on their first drive of the game of the game which ended in a score then scored again after two Predator Interceptions and a bad snap for a safety. All in all the 23 points was the most points given up in any quarter by a Predator team in 129 gamnes. "Clearly the offense didn't help by giving the Mariners the ball back throughout the game and the first quarter set the tone for the rest of the game".
Preds to much for the Bounty Hunters end their season 27 to 7 Staten Island, NY; The Predators advanced to the Conference Finals by defeating the Hudson County Bounty Hunters and their vaunted rushing attack with a little running attack of their own. RB Chi Chi Mansaray scored twice on the ground and had over 100 rushing for third time this season playing against the Bounty Hunters.
The game started off badly for the Predators as the Bounty Hunters took a kickoff 70 yards and scored a few plays later after a QB pass to #23. The Predators answered quickly with a nice 10 play drive which involved QB Lou Scala hitting Kareen Moon, Constance Richardson and the running of Mansaray. Mansaray ended the drive with a 10 yard TD run. The Bounty Hunters put together another nice drive but after what seemed like a score a personal foul was called (clipping) which gave HC the ball on the Preds 15. The following play the Preds forced a fumble and recovered and the Bounty Hunters never threatened again. The Preds scored again in the 2nd quarter as Scala hooked up with WR Bruce Dudley for the 12 yard score. After two turnovers by the Predators one on the goal line and once inside there own 30 the game was left at 14 to 7 at halftime.
The Predators came out in the second half and turned it up a notch as the defense started causing havoc with sacks and turnovers. The line of Antonly Polizzi, Shariff Wiltshire and Phil Castellani LB's Damian McCaig, Jamal Payne, Mike Huertas and Mike Andrillo created several turnovers one of which was scooped up by DB Shameek Champagne for a 12 yeard score top give the Predators a 21 to 7 lead early in the third. The Predators final score of the game came early in the fourth with a dazzling 45 yard TD run by Mansaray putting the PRedators on top 27 - 7 With the win the Predators will now face the Brooklyn Mariners for the second time this season in the conference championship game. The game looks to be another thriller as the last one was decided in the final seconds. The game will be held this Saturday night at Monsignor Farrell H.S. 7pm kickoff. Preds hold on 34 - 33 as Lions roar back
Staten Island, NY; In what looked to be an easy victory the Predators came out on fire as QB Lou Scala and RB Chi Chi Mansary and the rest of the offense was unstoppable. Mansaray started the scoring for the Preds with a 20 yard scamper then added another before the half before leaving after an injury. Scala in the meantime was on fire connecting with every receiver on every scoring drive including a 65yard TD hookup with Kareem Moon. The special teams even got into it with Harrison Tindell returning a kickoff 70 yards for the TD.
But as easy as it came was as easy at the Preds almost let one slip away. About to take a 34 - 7 halftime lead the Preds fell asleep at the wheel. A 60 yard TD throw by the Lion QB put the score at 34 - 13 at the half. The Preds came out drove the ball down the field several times but faultered as they turned the ball over the ball 3 tiomes giving life to the Lions. The Lions comeback ended with a 2 point attempt to win the game. The Preds defended it got the ball back on the kickoff and took a knee to end the game. The Predators will next host the NJ Bounty Hunters in the second round of the playoffs. This will be the third meeting of the season time this season, with the Preds taking the first two. The Bounty Hunters are eagerly awaiting to get back at the Predators as they just upset the number three seed of the playoffs (LI Pit Bulls) knocking them off 28 - 21. Preds complete second consecutive undefeated regular season Staten Island, NY; The Predators completed another 10 - 0 regular season and with that retained a first seed and home field advantage for the playoffs. The Predators will face the 5 and 5 NJ Lions who they defeated earlier in the season 12 to 0 at Monsignor Farrell H.S.. The game will be played this Sunday October 12th at 3pm over in Alumni stadium (Monsignor Farrell H.S.
The Predators road to the number one seed was a bumpy one but overall they prevailed and got what they wanted most which was home field advantage and another shot at the RAFL championship. "Right now certain parts of our game have not been in sync but the coaches have been working hard during our off week to rite the ship" said President Bill Simo "It's been a great run for the last couple of years (37 and 7 since 2006) and I couldn't be prouder of the coaches and players, but now we have to get back to the chip!"
Preds defeat Brooklyn Mariners 27 - 14 clinch playoffs
Staten Island, NY; This past Sunday the Predators defeated an old acquaintance called the Brooklyn Mariners 27 - 14 in a very exciting game. The Mariners have been established over 50 years and coached by the legend Pudgie Walsh. The Mariners contain a rich tradition of winning which is unmatched is almost unmatched by other minor league football organizations but on this day the Predators withstood a typical Mariner comeback and came out victories 27 - 14. The game started off with backup QB Gino Scarano taking the reigns for the Preds. Scarano led the Preds to the Mariner side of the field but a botched snap and a few good defensive plays stalled the drive. The Mariners received the ball but the Preds quickly stomped out any threat and the Mariners pouched punted on third down. With the early battle of field position going the Mariners way it looked like they would take the first lead but the Preds defense held strong. The first score came after a few nice runs by RB Chi Chi Mansaray. Kicker Jeff Wolyliec put the Preds up by three with a 25 yard field goal.
With the halftime lead of 3 - 0 the Preds came out with a drive led with completions from QB Lou Scala to WR Kareem Moon and good running by Mansary which left to another 20 yard field goal by Wolyliec to put the Preds up by 6. The game was more of a defensive battle and turned the Predators way after DB Shamiek Champagne intercepted the Mariner pass and ran 65 yards to pay dirt putting the Preds up by 13. On the next Mariner possession the Preds MLB Damian McCaig intercepted an errant throw and gave the Preds the ball at their own 35. After a short gain by QB Anwar Issac the Mariners picked off a pass which gave them the ball on the Preds 30 yard line. The Mariners wasted little time as they completed a pass for the TD which put the score at 13 - 7 Preds.
The Preds got the ball and continued to run the ball well with Issac and Mansary but the drive stalled at midfield setting up a 10 play drive by the veteran Mariners who took the lead with a score with just under 2:00 to go in the game.
After a the kick return by Moon brought the ball to the Preds 38 Scala connected with Moon and Tindall to bring the ball to midfield. The Preds facing a 4th and 10 drew the Mariners offside and then Scala connect with Tindall for 10 yards and a first down. Scala then connected with Tinadall and moon to bring the ball to the Preds 38 with 38 seconds to go. On first down Scala threw a rope to a streaking Timmy Kelson but the ball was just out of the reach of the diving RB. This set up the play of the game with just under 30 seconds to go Scala rolled left and connected with a jumping Kareen Moon for the go ahead score then connected with him again to put the Preds up by a score of 21 - 14. On the kick returned the ball to their 40 and attempted a well conceived backward lateral pass which ended up going out of bounds leaving them with the ball on their 38yard line. The Mariners completed their first pass of the drive then lateralled led the ball back to a player who then lateralled the ball and fumbled and Champagne was the there for the scoop and ran it in for the 60 yard TD which ended the game preds 27 - Mariners 14
Preds stop the Bounty Hunters 14 - 6 Staten Island, NY; The Predators kept rolling as they defeated the Bounty Hunters by a score of 14 - 6 during their second contest of the year. The Bounty Hunters opened the game with the ball but turned it over quickly as Keith Assante intercepted a bomb on the first play of the game. The Predators capitalized quickly with a short completion to WR Kareen Moon from QB Lou Scala then scored on a 77 yard dazzling run by RB Chi Chi Mansaray (8 for 113 1TD). The Preds were up 6 - 0 much of the half but the gritty Bounty Hunters came back to tie it 6 - 6 after a long drive with a beautiful pass and catch by the Bounty Hunter QB and WR. 6 - 6 at the half
The Predators took the opening possession but fumbled it away (4 Turnovers) after a 3rd down sack of Scala. The Bounty Hunters after being stopped on a run threw up another ill advised pass where Keith Assante (2 Int's, 2 Tackles) was there to make his second Int of the day. The Preds capitalized again driving the ball down to the 14 yard line where FB Nicky Vitagliano rumbled in for the 14 yard score to put the preds up 12 to 6. The Predators last score came when the Bounty Hunters were pushed back to their 1 yard line and fumbled the exchange. Shariff Wiltshire (1 Sack, 4 Tackles) was there to record the safety. The defense played well again sometimes bending but rarely breaking. Damian McCaig led the way with 8 tackles along with, Mike Andrillo, 7 tackles and finally Jamal Payne with 6 tackles. Preds Mine and find gold with 23 - 20 victory Scranton, PA; The NY Predators travled down to PA to face one of the toughest teams in the RAFL and came up with the big win 23 to 20. The Preds opened the scoring on their first possesion with a 15 play drive which ended in TD pass from QB Lou Scala to WR Bruce Dudley. The extra point was blocked making the score 6 - 0. In the 2nd quarter the Miners came back to tie the game at 6 with a TD pass but missed the extra point. With the score being knotted at 6 the Preds scored again on TD pass from WR Bruce Dudley to WR Harrison Tindall adding an extra point the Preds went up 13 - 6 at the half.
The Preds received the ball opening the third quarter but after a good kick return of 40 yards the return man fumbled fighting for extra yards. The Miners capitalized quickly and punched it in after a 7 play drive. The Preds scored again late in the 3rd quarter as RB Daquan Williams led them down the field with over 65 yards on the ground and finally scored after the 12 play drive with a toss from Scala to Tindall to make it 20 - 13 Preds. Midway through the 4th the RB Chi Chi Mansaray led the charge rushing for 40 yards on the drive and along with Scala connecting with Tindell, Moon and Dudley for short gains. Geoff Wyloliec kicked the the 30 yard field goal to put the Preds up by 10 with about 3 minutes to go. The Miners made a furous charge to get back in the game as they scored on a deep 50 yard bomb with about a minute left in the game but the Preds recovered the onside kick to seal the win.
The Predators next game is against the Brooklyn Mariners in an important playoff seeding game. The game will be held on September 7th 6pm at Monsignor Farrell H.S. tickets at the gate will be $7 for adults teens wearing H.S. Jersey's $3 and kids under 12 are free.
Game Notes
Predators hold off the Spartans 22 - 12 Newark, NJ; The Predators held off the late charge of the Spartans and held on for the victory against the speedy Spartans. The predators jumped off to a 22 - 0 first half lead but could not capitalize on good field position throughout the rest of the game. The Preds took the early lead with a five yard TD run by Raheem Ridley and made it 8 - 0 with the 2 point Conversion to Bruce Dudley. Preds scored again on a Scala to Moon connect to make the score 16 noting and the Defense came through with a 20 yard Int return for a TD by CB Shameek Champagne. On the defensive side of the ball Damian McCaig, Shariff Wiltshire, Phil Castellani and Anthony Polizzi all played well. Next up for the Predators are the Nepa Miners in Scranton who are fresh off steam rolling it's last couple of opponents by an average score of 40 points
Predators take down Bounty Hunters 35 - 12 Jersey, City NJ; QB Lou Scala led the way with 5TD's as the Predators rolled. The Predators scored four of the five times they touched the ball, all in the air. The speedy running of Chi Chi Mansaray coupled with the power running of Raheem Ridley helped set the tone. The first score came off a 25 yard TD pass from Scala to Kareen Moon who out jumped the defender. After a short series for the defense which included a sack from Damian McCaig Scala connected with Bruce Dudley to put the Preds up by 14. The Preds went up by 21 when Scala hit FB Matt Aiello Jr. and then capped off the first half with a 5 yard pass to TD to Dudley. The Predator defense missing several defenders due to injury were able to were able to contain the Bounty Hunters for most of the game. The Bounty Hunters score came at the end of the half as they rolled the dice on 4th and 8 from the 50 and scored on a WR revearse. Playing tougher defense throughout the second half the Preds were not able to put any succesful drives together until the final posession where Scala connected with Dudley again for his 3rd TD of the game. The Bounty Hunters second score came on a botched snap and which was recovered in the end zone
Game Notes The Predators were missing several players again for the Bounty Hunters contest but the defensive coach was very proud of his players for hanging in there and making some big plays. CB Shameek Champagne played a stellar game recording two pickes and several tackles. Shariff Wiltshire, Mike Pielich, Levi Wiltshire, Jamal Payne all recorded sacks and played well defensively. The Predators have a bye this weekend and next play against the feisty second place Spartans at High Noon in NJ
Lions say meow as the Predators win 12 - 0 Staten Island, NY; The Predators and Lions duked it out they other night for four quarters but in the end the Preds nipped the cats 12 zip. The game started with a bang as the Predators immediately sacked the Lions QB and recovered a the fumble. Backup signal caller started off the game by handing off the ball to Chi Chi Mansary for a quick gain of 7 but then threw a INT in the end zone giving the ball right back to the Lions. After the Preds made quick work of the Lions offensive series they struck quickly as QB Lou Scala hit a streaking WR Kareen Moon for the 30 yard TD pass. The Predators missed the extra point making the score 6 - 0. That was it pretty much for the offense as they pretty much dominated offensively but could not score any points offensively. On the Night the Predators missed 3 field goals and turned the ball over 3 times in the red zone. "We just weren't in sync when we got down to the redone, I give much credit Lions defense but at the same time we really played sloppy football tonight" Said Offensive Coordinator Delagrazie. On the other hand the Predators played stellar defensively shutting down the Lions all night including another sack and fumble which was recovered by LB Derek Harris to put the Preds up by 12. The defense also had a late 4th quarter goal line stand as a botched punt gave the Lions the ball at the Predators 5 yard line. "I can't complain!" said defensive coordinator Pucciarelli "we did our job the entire night by limiting their offensive opportunities and that's all you can ask out of your defensive unit." he added
Game Notes The Predators were missing a few starters again this week as DE Joe Romero (2nd week) and DT Anthony Polizzi both sat out the game. Offensively the Preds were without leading receiver Harrison Tindall, WR Elliot Vazques (2nd Week), RB Tim Kelson and Center Tommy Levoyer (2nd Week). The Preds will be headed out of town for the few weeks and won't play home again until September. Next up are the Hudson County Bounty Hunters fresh off a 36 - 6 victory over the LI Panthers. The game will be played at St.Peters H.S. Field in Jersey City 3pm
Predators make Hudson County see Stars 47 - 6
Staten Island, NY; The Predators and Stars battled the other night at Alumi Stadium where the Predators improved to 2 and 0 with a 47 - 6 victory. The Predators came out sloppy as a few injuries slowed them down on the first drive leading to a fumble recovery for the Stars. After the Predaators stopped the Stars again the injury bug struck the Preds as Javone Parnell the backup center went out with a injury. After the injury replacement QB Lou Scala connected with WR Harrison Tindall for a 62 yard TD. After another quick series by the defense Scala hooked up with Tindall again to put the Preds up by 14. After another couple of short defensive series the Preds scored 2 more times before the half on a 20 yard scamper by RB Chi Chi Mansaray and a 65 yard Punt return run by WR Kareem Moon.. The Stars scored late in the second quarter to make the score 27 - 6 at the half. The Predators opened the second half by scoring to make the score 34 - 6 on a 9 yard run by Daquan Williams and scored early in the fourth on a 33 yard yard strike from Scala to TE Constance Richardson. The Predator final score came from QB Gino Scarano to Moon a 17yard play. On the defensive side of the Ball Anthony Polizzi had a sack and 3 hurries as did Shariff Wiltshire and Paul and Phil Castellani. Shameek Champagne, Matt Mack, Keith Assante, Serome Slaughter and Ben Rodrigues all had pass breakups
Notes; Congrats to Kareem Moon as third return for a TD was finally not penalized. Kareems previous two returns against the Ravens (70yard KR)and ealier in the game against the Stars were negated by penalties

Brooklyn, NY; The New York Predators defeated the Long Island Ravens 24 - 14 under the clear skies at Aviater field this past Friday night. The Ravens are new comer to the RAFL but not to the Predators as they now hold a 2 - 0 lifetime record against the birds from LI. The game opened with the Ravens getting the ball and promptly truning it over to the Preds on a Interception by MLB Damian McCabe. The Preds made short work of the turnover as last years MVP Chi Chi Mansary promptly took the first handoff and play of the Predators offense for a 25 yard scoring TD, with the extra point the score was 7 - 0. The game became a defensive battle as the Predators suffocated the Ravens potent running game and the Ravens limited the Preds big play offenseuntil the Preds stuck again in the second quarter with a 40 yard TD pass from QB Lou Scala to WR Kareem Moon to make the score 14 - 0. The Ravens struck through the air soon after making the score 14 - 7 after a 70 yard bomb to all purpose player Travis Jynx. In the third quarter the Preds added to their lead after a Chi Chi run of about 40 yards brought the Preds near the goal line. the Preds couldn't quite cash in but Geoff Wolyliec kicked a 22 yarder to make the score 17 - 7. The Ravens continued show determination by scoring again through the air on another big play in the air of sixty yards in Jynx, making the score 17 - 14. Showing true workman like effort the Preds again came through when they needed to when they took the ball deep into Ravens territory and Mansary scored on a 1 yard TD run to end the scoring at 24 - 14. Harrison Tindall led all receivers and Chi Chi Mansaray led the offense in All Purpose yards. The defense was led by Damain McCaig two interceptions and Keith Assante Interception. Joe Romero had the lone sack for the defense.
Next game will bethis Saturday July, 19th at 7pm Vs. the Hudson County Stars at Alumni Stadium at Monsignor Farrell H.S. in Staten Island. Tickets at the gate will be $7.00 and kids under 12 will be free. All H.S. or Pre-H.S. players wearing their team Jersey will receive a discount and only be charged $3

(Easiest directions if you are not familiar with SI) Take the same exit as you would to get to Willowbrook Park (Victory Blvd) stay on Victory passing Willowbrook park and travel about another 1.5 miles. This should take you to Travis Ave. At Travis make a right and about two blocks on your right hand side you will see SI Boys field. We will be practicing on Field #3. From Verrazano go straight towards the west shore expressway/Outerbridge Crossing get off the South Ave exit make a quick left then a quick right onto Travis. You will see the field on your left. From Goethals and Bayonne go towards the west shore expressway/Outerbridge Crossing get off the South Ave exit make a quick left then a quick right onto Travis. You will see the field on your left. From the Outerbridge crossing just stay on the West Shore Expressway towards Brooklyn and get off the South Ave. exit Make a quick right from the exit and another right at the light. Field will be on your left.
We will not be practicing at Farrell for a month due to the kids use of the school on the nights we can practice. Games on the weekend will still be fine just these few weeks while they run their clinics. We will still be practicing on Wednesday nights just at another location. If you are not at practice Sunday call Billy or someone on the coaching staff to get the new info.

Predators Camp Report - The Defense
6/22/08
The Predators continue to have great practices and this week was no different. Even though it was raining about 45 players showed up for one of the most intense practices to date. Virtually every player from the ddefense has returned again for another season except they are all faster and stronger. Joe Romero and Anthony Polizzi anchor the defensive line with a few new additions at LB and safety. "Right now there has been a battle going on at several starting positions on the defense so I can't say who's starting until the dust settles" said Defensive Coordinator Vinny Pucciarelli" Making impressions on Coach Pucc have been LB's Damian McCaig, Mike Huertos & Anthony Van Pelt. CB Shamiek Champagne has been showing good coverage ability. Returning players such as Keith O'Quendo Keith Assante, Ben Rodriguez, Charles Watson, Godfrey Zueletta, have also been playing some great ball. "It's going to be a dog fight but that's the way it should be, every player has got to earn his playing time" added Coach Pucc
Predators Camp Report -This Week The Offense
Staten Island, NY 6/11/08
The NY Predators continued with it's strong practice sessions this weekend but had the smallest turnout of the with only 65 players showing up. "The average turnout has been around 75 - 80 players per week but with cuts and a few injuries the numbers have averaged down" said Owner Bill Simo. Highlights of practice so far has been the RB's and the return of RB Raheem Ridley who once the teams single season and all time leading rusher of the team. Raheem has returned with bigger stonger and faster in addition to Rah 6'4 270lbs RB/FB Constance Richardson has been a scary site in the open field. The two are adding to an already powerful running game as team MVP Chi Chi Mansaray and Tim Kelson have been there usual lights out along with Nick Vitagliano, Matt Aiello, Daquan Williams and Andrew Golden. "Some would say we have a crowded backfield but the fact is we just became more dangerous" mentioned head coach Matt Aiello. "Last year we were deadly on the ground but I truly feel we are going to be dominating""
While the Offensive line and depth is still intact we've added another excellent player in Babatunde Adedapo. He's been on it since day one" Said Offensive Line coach Dwyane Anderson. Baba a recent graduate from American Intl. College is emerging as one of the best lineman on the team.
The receiving corps has added the 4.3 speedster Kareem Moon the career all purpose yard/reception leader while at William Patterson College and the leading Kick Returner in the nation. "KM has been showing us why he was selected as a college allstar for all 4 of his seasons at Willie P. With the speed and talent that is already on the receiving core adding another deep threat could be scary for opposing teams. said Offensive Coord. Coach Delagrazie.

From the Bk/Queens/BX,NYC take BQE to Verr. Bridge. Take the First exit which is Father Capodanno Blvd. Fields will be on your right in about 2.5 miles.
From Jersey take SI Expressway to last exit Father Capodanno. Make right at light look for fields on right 2.5 miles down the road.
