NY Predator Player information

So you may be
asking yourself what it takes to become a NY Predator, if so we hope this
document provides the answers to most if not all of your questions.
What are the NY Predators? The NY Predators are an Adult
Amateur Football Team
Is this like flag or rough
touch? The Predators wear
full equipment just like the NFL
How do you play games? The Predators are in the Regional American
Football League RAFL, play pre-season, regular season, playoff and tournament
games. Total games can be anywhere from 12 to 20 games
How’s the football? The players and games are very competitive.
Players range from H.S. experience all the way to former NFL players
What are the rules? We play using NFL rules except we don’t have
video challenges
Do you have coaches? The Predators typically have 6 to 10 coaches
on staff
When do you start
practicing? The
Predators start practicing towards the middle of April.
What do I need? If you are a rookie you will be asked to
pay a $25 registration fee plus an additional $125 in dues
Does that include
equipment? No,
you will need to use your own equipment due to liability issues
What do my dues pay for? The dues all go towards practice
field rentals, home field games, ref fee’s, league fee’s, washing and cleaning
of uniforms, ice, water, footballs, and generally everything to do with keeping
the organization running smoothly.
Where do you play your
home games? We
play all of our home games on
Do you guys practice and
once I sign up do I make the team? We practice at least once a week. During pre-season practice, will usually
be on the weekends until the middle of May. In May we move Practice
to Monsignor Farrell on Wednesday nights 9pm. If you can’t commit to practicing
you won’t make the team. No one is guaranteed a spot just for signing up.
Are spots open or do you
have players that automatically start because they were on the team the year
before? Veterans have the edge because they know the
system but
ALL positions are
open, every season there have been a rookies who have earned starting jobs
coming out of camp.
Do you guys have any team
rules? Like
any team we have rules but for the most part it’s simple pay your dues, make
practices, listen to the coaching staff without talking back and act
accordingly while representing the team. Whether you are wearing a Predator jersey or
just representing the team in some capacity you should always be respectful of the organization
and those organizations we are facing. If you can’t meet this criteria then quite
simply you won’t be a part of the NY Predators football team
